We are very excited to announce the launch of the EU-funded project BCA-WA-ETHICS! This project is a cooperation between the University of Zaragoza, the Senegalese institution IRESSEF (Institute for Health Research, Epidemiological Surveillance and Training), and the Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action. BCA-WA-ETHICS aims to facilitate the incorporation of a gender perspective into health research in West Africa, and hopes to train West African research institutions in the design and implementation of gender equality plans. In addition, research will conducted on the gender-related barriers against the educational and professional development of West African female scientists and health researchers. We expect the project to contribute to the achievement of the 3rd and 5th UN Sustainable Development Goals by promoting gender equality in health research.
