Dr. Guillermo Z. Martínez-Pérez

Project Coordinator, University of Zaragoza

Dr. Martínez-Pérez is a social and health scientist with vast experience in ethnographic research and management of various humanitarian aid and capacity-building projects in sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, he is the founder and president of the African Women's Research Observatory (AfWORO), a not-for-profit association that provides support to emergent African female scientists. 


Dr. Samba Cor Sarr

Project Partner, Ministry of Health and Social Action

Dr. Sarr, in addition to working as a civil servant in the Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action, is the Chair of the National Research Ethics Committee. Dr. Sarr has extensive expertise in health research ethics and is known for his commitment towards building the capacities in medical ethics of young female scientists across West Africa.

Prof. Flore Gangbo

Project Partner, Ministry of Health 

Prof. Flore Gangbo has been serving as President of the Benin National Research Ethics Committee since 2007. She has also served as Minister of Health (2006-2007), and Vice President of the National Council of Education (2009-2017). She is employed as a Full Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Université d’Abomey-Calavi since 2013. She is also the current Coordinator of the National Program of the Fight against AIDS.

Prof. Sambou Soumaré

Project Partner, Ministry of Health and Social Development

Prof. Sambou Soumaré is the President of the CNESS-Mali since 2015 and a civil servant of the Ministry of Hygiene and Public Health of Mali. He has also served as the Director of the Ecole Nationale de Médecine et de Pharmacie de Bamako in Mali and as a Professor in the same institution for a total duration of 27 years. The National Health Science Ethics Committee of Mali has under his presidency since 2009.


Ms. Farah Nabil

Project Manager, University of Zaragoza

Farah Nabil is a global health research professional and project manager with experience in the areas of migrant and vulnerable populations’ health, maternal and reproductive health, community-based health promotion, gender mainstreaming in health research, and sex- and gender-based analysis of HIV prevention technology.


Dr. María Hinjos

Project Advisor, Aragon Research Ethics Committee (CEICA)

Dr. María is the Technical Secretary of the Research Ethics Committee of Aragón. She has over 15 years of experience in ethical assessment of research projects and clinical trials and review of legal compliance and data protection. She is a member of the Directive Board of the Spanish National Asociation of Research Ethics Committees (ANCEI).
